Oh, yeah, hey, it's my birthday. 29. Kind of an anti-climactic experience this year.

What is a "happy" birthday exactly? We wish this on people with our own ideas and expectations, but how do we know that what we think matches what other folks think?

Let's take an example. I might wish to smoke crack, but another person might not want that at all. I respect your decision not to smoke crack, but I love it! Now, I ask, do we all want Peter to smoke crack? Do you think that will that make him happy? I bet he'd rather have some yummy fried death!

I think that we should first ask Peter what would make him happy and then wish that he gets those things. We should not wish for him to have my crack. Or my crack pipe. Or my crack pipe lighter. Indeed, that would make me quite sad because then I would be without my crack. Would you trade Peter's happines for mine? You would!? You are so cruel.

- Electric Fence Urination

p.s. I hope that for my birthday, I get some crack. Wish for crack for me, not happiness. Although, now that I think about it, crack would bring happiness. Oh, what a twisted life of bliss...
